Transatlantic Council Troop Jamboree 2010

BSA National Jamboree 2010

All’s Well That Begins Well

Posted by admin On July - 23 - 2010

Hello Parents/Family Members,

Everyone has arrived well, and alive. Luckily no accidents or mishaps yet. Operation Pick-Up and Go went along smoothly with little to no delays. After taking a 8-9 hour flight most of the scouts were exhausted, but were ready to go after a good pizza dinner at the Pre-Jamboree Campout here at Prince William Forrest. After we were all fed and ready for bed, we went around to our cabins and began setting up for our first hot and humid night. Aside from the spiders, snakes, and possible Black Bear we all slept fine. The crickets did a good job giving us a warm welcome that night. The next two days we will be visiting downtown D.C. looking at history, and statues. Then on Sunday we will be in a parade celebrating 100 years of scouting. We will  be doing this with about 40,000 other scouts and scouters. You can catch us on any of the local news channels, or on CNN. As well as many other news channels. So now its a giant game of “Wheres Waldo” but with 138 Troop Contingent. We’ll will keep up with these updates throughout the next week and a half. Scouts send their love amidst all the fun here.

Sincerely,

Troop 138 Scribe, and Webmaster
